Tagesan Mountain (The site of Tage Castle)

Outcrop of the lower Oya stone layer can be observed at the foot of this mountain. This mountain is located to the west of Oya stone production area and the Utsunomiya clan used this mountain as their castle for a period of time. This is how the area got its name “Shiroyama" or "Castle mountain".
